Preventing Home Intruders
We have a low window in our daughter's room on the street side. We have planted a thorny red bush along the whole front of the house. It is spaced out to look nice. It feathers out and was purchased at the end of the season from Lowes. Also, when raised, the windows are only opened eight inches, and then we have screw type locks to hold the window in place on each side. While nothing is foolproof, we feel good about these measures for use during the day when we are home. At night, the windows are closed and locked, due to the ground location. I know from weeding and trying to wash the windows that the bushes do draw blood!

Dirty Ceiling Fans?
A great way to clean a ceiling fan and avoid the lint and dust from going everywhere is to use a pillowcase. Take the pillowcase and stick the blade inside. Then pull off the lint so it remains in the pillowcase. I just launder as usual to remove the dust from the pillowcase.

Handling an Over-Priced Family Reunion
I live near a state park and have noticed that many families use the park for family reunions. All they need to do is reserve a pavilion (or several) for use. The park has swimming and boating facilities as well as fishing opportunities. They engage in picnic type games such as horseshoes, cards, softball, etc. Actually, in my opinion, these types of games allow for more conversation among family members than riding amusement rides. After all, the purpose of a reunion is to visit and catch up on what is happening in the lives of others.
